Professional & Educational Background:

  • Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
  • Licensed Addictions Counselor in the State of Montana (1990-2013)
  • Master’s Degree in Applied Behavioral Sciences
  • Certified Grief Recovery Specialist

While I have nearly two decades of training and educating in various areas of counseling, it has been my work as a Grief Counselor that I’ve found to be the most rewarding and fulfilling.

The counseling skills I’ve acquired over the years enable me to support people in healing depression, stress, trauma, anxiety, communication problems, family-of-origin work and addiction issues.

I take a holistic approach with my clients, focusing on people’s strengths. This allows the client to actively participate in their own healing process. In keeping with the holistic approach and in the interest of continued education in my counseling practice, I recently completed a course integrating the use of creativity in the healing process, especially around the issue of grief.

I lead two grief groups in my practice:

  • The 12-week group focused on the various losses people may experience over their lifetimes. These may include death of a loved one, divorce, end of a relationship, loss of hopes and dreams, health or childhood.
  • The 6-week group guides adults to learn how best to support children through their grieving process.

Grief counseling is available on an individual basis as well.
